Sun’s Back, Fun’s Back!

What a glorious weekend. It’s amazing what a little sunshine can do for your spirits.  We had a fantastic first 4th of July weekend with little Charlie.  We took in the sites and sounds of Bristol, Narragansett Bay and even took him to the beach in Newport for the first time.

Loving 1st Beach, Newport

Loving the Beach!

Charlie loved dipping his toes in the water… it was too cute.

The recent crazy weather has kept me from finding time to post recently, too.  Needless to say, I–like everyone else– am enjoying the reprieve from the storminess.

Congratulations on little Charlie, what a handsome little devil. I remember that age. I want to comment on the sippy cups. The best ones are the playtex twist caps with the flip tops. However, when thrown, they do tend to squirt. If the spout is flipped in, they will not squirt, they’ll hurt when thrown at you though. I knew my daughter was ready for a sippy when she threw her bottle at me. I have two kids, and they were both excellent with teething. Try a cool soft terry cloth. Sucking on those helps too. Don’t believe the crushed ice myth just yet though, yes they can choke. When more and more teeth come in, it does get better and better. Another thing my pediatrician suggested, was a little bit of infant tylenol on your finger and rub it on his gums. It won’t sting or taste as funny as baby anbesol or baby orajel.
