Yes, all I hear is they don’t have a product on the market yet. That might not be a bad thing, someone needs to find out who is making this not yet extant product, that’s the question now. I’m assuming it is not Mr. Schilling himself in his mom’s basement hand coding, but if it is… !

Haha, we journalists know better than to make our cracks publicly. But you raise a good point – we local journos need to take a closer look at the outlook for 38 Studios’ games. For all the back and forth here in the state, that’s what will really determine whether this is looked back on as a coup or a mistake.

Well, the down side is that if the venture fails “on its merits” – that is, if Reckoning is anything less that a hit – taxpayers are left holding the bag. Even a cynic and notorious jock-hater like me has to admit that the team is extraordinary. (Dig up the Adam Sessler interview from Comic-con on the G4 website. He’s a little giddy, and that speaks volumes.)

Which leads to a potential up side not yet discussed…

Like Swipely, this has the potential to import (yet more) world-class talent. Talent attracts talent the same way deals attract deals. A- talent will relocate to work with A+ talent.

I admit that I am forcing myself into a glass-half-full perspective. What other choice do we have?

BTW, best posting on the story. Should I make a PBN crack? Nah, you’ve prolly got a better one…
