Hinckley scores a hit with cute video starring his 5-year-old son
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Barry Hinckley faces long odds in his effort to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse this fall. He’s behind by 22 points in the WPRI 12 poll. He’s at a crushing financial disadvantage. He’s a Republican in a heavily blue state.
So creativity is key for Hinckley and John Loughlin, his campaign’s executive director. And they clearly realize that, judging by a new YouTube ad starring Hudson Hinckley, the candidate’s 5-year-old son, warning voters about the national debt and extolling his dad. It was filmed about two weeks ago and posted Monday. (Watch it below.)
Hudson’s quick tour de force has racked up 3,706 views at this writing and was an immediate hit with Fox News, which featured the clip on Greta van Sustren’s program Wednesday night and “Fox and Friends” this morning. Barry and Hudson Hinckley are scheduled to appear on Neil Cavuto’s show Thursday at 4:45 p.m., too, and The Hill also ran an item about the video Wednesday.
The production was a family affair, with the idea coming from dad and editing done by Hudson’s mother Terri, according to Loughlin, who took the job with Hinckley after bowing out of the 1st Congressional District race. ”Barry has often said he’s in this race for his kids and all our children who are being saddled with huge debt by the career politicians,” Loughlin told WPRI.com. “Barry is a proven job creator, not a career politician.”
It’s not the first lighthearted YouTube clip Hinckley’s campaign has released. Last month, the campaign put up a video mocking Vice President Biden for his office’s “Road Island” gaffe ahead of the VP’s visit here.
“It’s always helpful to get a chance to tell our story and to inspire Rhode Islanders,” Loughlin said in an email. “Senator Whitehouse may have Vice President Biden – but we have 5-year-old Hudson Hinckley! I think most Rhode Islanders would agree we got the top pick!” Watch the video and decide for yourself:

He kind of ruined whatever momentum the ad might have given him with the bizarre interview he did with the kid on Cavuto. He was mouthing all of the kids responses as he said them, while the kids clearly doesn’t care about any of this.
It really gave off a “creepy show biz father” vibe.

Kind of makes you wonder about the kind of example this guy is setting for his child, forcing him to distort facts and lie. No doubt he would make an outstanding politician. A child’s innocence does not belong in politics. If you cant get elected on your own good word, then don’t run. Loser.
So Mr.Gruber are you trying to tell the sane world that obama was elected for his “own good word”? You know as little about obama as the rest of use because he is a lying politician (redundant)that has spent a MILLION dollars to HIDE WHO and WHAT he is. I’d vote for the gecko before the fau incumbent
