Rainy Start to Tuesday

A very small area of low pressure is passing near Nantucket mid-morning,  creating another soggy morning for southern New England.  The rain was enhanced by the tropical air flowing in  and a closer track of the low… giving us more widespread rain and heavier downpours  than we were initially anticipating.  It also led to a slow morning commute.

This Morning

The showers are expected to break apart as we head into the afternoon… with most of the rainfall shifting to our west for the 2nd half of the day.   We still can’t rule out some spotty showers… but not the soaking we’re seeing right now.    Temperatures will continue to be cool with highs in the mid and upper 60s.

This Afternoon

Humidity will remain high tonight with fog reforming.  Don’t be depressed if it’s a dreary beginning to Wednesday, too… with low clouds and patchy fog. I am still look at some improvements through the day on Wednesday, with skies turning partly sunny and just a hit-or-miss shower or thunderstorm popping up.  A little sun should do wonders for our temperatures, with highs climbing into the mid and upper 70s.
