Alarm over new EDC arm that could sell East Bay energy bonds

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Some Rhode Island lawmakers are concerned a bill to push a wind energy project in the East Bay would expand the reach of the embattled R.I. Economic Development Corporation even as the agency is under fire for mismanaging the 38 Studios deal.

It is incomprehensible that this General Assembly would even consider this at this time. They still have not come clean on the 38 Studios debacle. We have not heard publicly from any General Assembly leader who sheparded the 38 studios deal through the General Assembly, and now they are seriously looking at this matter?
Perhaps it is good and maybe it is not but this is not the time to embark on a new undertaking throught the EDC. Who on the EDC is going to have the opportunity to do due diligence on whether this should or should not be undertaken.
Why does this need to go through the EDC, if it is so lucractive and has private funding?????????????????????
Why isn’t the illustrious treasurer weighing in on this? Or is her silence due to her relationship with Paiva Weed?
