Temperatures will likely surpass yesterday highs, maybe by as much as 5° at TF Green Airport.  That would put us at record setting highs in the upper 90s to near 100.  It’s not just the high temperature that could go down in the record books, but probably the low temperature, too.  We began the morning at a sultry 75°… the record warm minimum temperature is 74°.

Temperatures Today

Bermuda high pressure continues to pump in the hot and humid air with temperatures and humidity combining to give us heat indices at 100-105° this afternoon and evening.  It’s another day with a heat advisory from 11am-7pm.

Heat Advisory

Winds today will be a land breeze (from the west-northwest), so even our coastal communities will be baking in the summer heat.  The immediate mile or so along the coast may get the benefit of a weak sea breeze this afternoon… but we’re talking some sizzling soles of your feet at our beaches today.   At least the water can cool you off, with temps at a refreshing 66°

Beach Futurecast

We’re waiting on a cold front to pass through our area, bringing our temperatures into a more tolerable range…. that won’t happen until Saturday.  Ahead of the front, we’ll have to watch for thunderstorms
