Happy Fourth of July from Nesi’s Notes

Nothing like a little “Schoolhouse Rock” to get you in the mood to celebrate, right?

As I discovered last year at this time, the “Fireworks” cartoon was made in 1976 – the year of the nation’s bicentennial – and the singer is Grady Tate, a famous jazz musician. The catchy music and lyrics are by Lynn Aherns, who wrote the musicals “Ragtime,” “Seussical” and “Once on This Island.”
