Day upon day of delightful weather this week and we have more of the same today and tomorrow!  It gives us a little time to focus on some other weather topics–like comparing this summer to last summer.  So far the two summers are matching up pretty well in terms of temperatures.  Temperatures this June ended up a little cooler than average, similar to last year…. while the first 2 weeks of July 2012 have been much warmer than average (+4.0°) compared to July 2011 which was +2.8° warmer than normal.

Last June, July and August there were a total of 7 days where temps climbed to 90° or higher, including a record-setting 101° on July 22!  So far in June and July2012 we’ve seen 5 days hit 90° or higher.
