Hot Start to the Week

High heat and high humidity continue early this work week… with afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 90s and muggy nights into the 70s.  Dewpoint temperatures will be running at 65-70°—

DEWPOINT PERCEPTION
52 & lower COMFORTABLE
53-56 SLIGHTLY NOTICEABLE
57-59 QUITE NOTICEABLE
60-63 STICKY
64-69 UNCOMFORTABLE
70 + INTOLERABLE

Dewpoint is a direct measure of moisture in the atmosphere and, as you can see on the scale above–we’re in a very uncomfortable to borderline intolerable stretch over the next 3 days, especially if you earn a living working outdoors.  Relief is coming!  A strong cold front will swing through on Wednesday into early Thursday, potentially bringing some strong thunderstorms with it.  Behind the front a fresh, dry air mass will build down with Canadian high pressure.  The humidity will drop through the day on Thursday, and 90°+ temps will be replaced with highs 80-85, and dry comfortable air.
