Globe: Patrick Kennedy feuding with Vicki over Ted’s legacy

Frank Phillips reports for The Boston Globe:

The already frayed relationship between Vicki Kennedy and her late husband’s children is at the breaking point, with the two sons growing increasingly convinced that she is jeopardizing the senator’s legacy and mishandling the creation of the $71 million institute that bears his name.

Much of the conflict centers around the construction and governance of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the US Senate, a project that faces potential cost overruns, according to a close family friend who was authorized by some family members to speak on their behalf, but who declined to be named.

Edward M. Kennedy Jr. and Patrick Kennedy, the senator’s children, believe their father’s widow is badly bungling the efforts to create what their father had hoped would be a monument to his storied career in the US Senate, said the friend, whose account was confirmed by another close family associate.

Patrick signed a fundraising pitch for the new Edward M. Kennedy Institute just last December.

Oh please….which one of them called you to plant this story?

Spend your time on real news not harassing the woman who stood at Ted’s side while he died of a glioblastoma

No, kidding. They both have disliked Vickie for years. I guess their next move will be to trash her. These two are a perfect match with cousin, Bobbie. It does not matter who the woman is wife, mother, step-mother, friend or whatever, their game is always the same “emotional abuse”. When is it going to end?

I agree that the Institute should have figures of national staure on the board including (gasp) some Republicans, but Ted left Vickie 100% in charge so unless they can prove some sort of malfeasance, they are out of luck. As for the Hynnanis Port house, it’s petty that she’s making them pay to use their own grandfather’s house and the lawn, but again, Ted left her in charge, and he must have had his reasons for doing so. He didn’t leave his two sons in charge, did he? My guess is that they didn’t treat Vickie very well over the years, and now she’s getting payback.

He has done enough damage. We do not need a Institute to remind us.

    1. Julie says:

      He was a great Senator!!!

Recently dead Ted’s legacy is unshakable.
No enemy nation, ideology, act of God, or other form of insanity has done more harm to the Constitution, The Republic and Liberty than he.

May he burn forever in his new home.
