Tropics Heating Up!

August 4th, 2012 at 10:32 pm by under General Talk, Tony's Pinpoint Weather Blog

After  a very quiet July, the tropics are getting active in August!  There are now 2 named storms in the Atlantic Basin, Ernesto and Florence.  Ernesto is moving through the Caribbean Sea and could briefly form into a Category 2 hurricane before it moves over the Yucatan Peninsula.  Ernesto will not play a role in our weather.

Florence, is still very far away from affecting any land masses, but is still one to watch.  Florence is forecasted to continue to work her way through the Central Atlantic and be near Bermuda on Friday.  It’s waaaaay to early to tell if Florence will play ANY role in our weather, but again, one to watch.
