Ultra-muggy, warm air will clash with a slow moving front to give us scattered showers and thunderstorms next 2 days.  There’s even the potential for some strong and/or severe thunderstorms late today and tonight.  Here’s the latest map on the severe weather potential from the Storm Prediction Center.

Severe T’Storm Risk Today

The biggest concern with any storms today will be torrential downpours–the sort of brief heavy rain that will cause temporary street and poor drainage flooding.  The other main concern with t’storms today will be brief strong winds. Here’s a look at our potential for severe, damaging winds in any thunderstorms.

Severe Wind Potential

The outlook for tomorrow is pretty similar.  While it won’t be raining non-stop all day, at any point a shower or thunderstorm could pass through, with brief heavy downpours.  By Sunday the front should be over Cape Cod, and as it drifts away through the day, the dry air will filter in and the murky morning should give way to a brighter afternoon.
