Showing off the RADAR
If you have ever watched our newscasts during severe weather, you might have seen something like the graphic below. This is a tool which shows the height of storms. Notice that the red shaft does not even make it to the first line which represents 20 thousand feet in the atmosphere. Severe storms are usually taller than this, so this is not a severe storm. However, this comes in very handy when there IS severe weather….there is a slight chance of some strong storms today. If that doesn’t pan out, stay tuned…I am sure you will see us use this sometime in the near future! -Pete Mangione
