Thunderstorms Saturday NightSeptember 7th, 2012 at 8:55 am by Michelle Muscatello under General Talk, Tony's Pinpoint Weather Blog
Summer-like weather today with high humidity, warm temperatures and just a small chance of a brief, isolated shower or thunderstorm. Saturday starts out similar to today, with areas of low clouds and fog giving way to partly sunny skies. It will be a windy day with gusts near 30mph… winds and humidity levels will rise through the day Saturday as a strong cold front moves into New England. That front will sweep through Saturday night, with gusty thunderstorms and some downpours. In fact, the Storm Prediction Center has southeastern New England under a “slight” risk for severe thunderstorms.
The change with our computer models today has been to quicken the exit of the rain…. we could be back to dry skies and sunshine by mid Sunday morning in most areas… the Cape may dry out a little more slowly.
