Brrrr! No mistaking the weather this morning for anything but a December day… temps began in the 20s and wind chills have been in the ‘teens at times. That’s a huge (25°) temperature change from yesterday. At least the sun will be shining over mostly clear skies through the day as highs struggle to reach the upper 30s to low 40s.
While the core of the cold, Canadian air will be over New England today, it quickly departs through tomorrow. Highs will climb into the upper 40s Friday as clouds increase. Right now, it looks like any showers will hold off until after 4pm… then continue into Friday night.
Get ready for additional wet weather through the weekend…. temps will be in the 50s each afternoon and 40s at night, so there’s no threat of any wintry weather… but there will be rounds of showers to dodge. Timing out these rounds of showers can be tricky in a progressive weather pattern like this… so here’s my best take based on the latest data:
Saturday looks to be the wetter of the two days… showers likely, especially before 3pm. There may be a lull in the wet weather on Sunday “day” as high pressure briefly tries to build down from the north. By late day and Sunday night, though, another round of rain will move in and it looks like rain will continue through much of Monday and Monday night.
