Themed Zumba

December 8th, 2012 at 4:07 pm by under The Rhode Show

The dance crazed workout called “Zumba” has been sweeping the nation, and I experienced why. Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International dance themes, rhythms and music. It combines high energy dance moves and music, that works your body to the core—friends, families, and strangers of all ages can enjoy.

I experienced an intense workout, with Zumba instructor Krissy of Krissy’s Dance & Fitness Studio in Providence. This “PC” graduate, fell in love with Zumba in college, and it’s been a match made in heaven ever since. Not only does Krissy teach Zumba, she teaches “Themed Zumba,” and I experienced the magic.

I ventured down to KDF Studio for themed Zumba, which I heard so much about, and the place was packed with women of all ages, dressed in their most adorable Christmas attire.

Instructor Krissy waisted no time, and started working us quick with Christmas songs and high energy moves. About 30 minutes into the workout, I was ready to throw the towel in, but I had to tough it out and show my “Rhodey” side…meaning you never give up! So, I continued giving it my all. From hip shaking moves, to a core intense workout; I left feeling like a brand new women with tighter glutes!

Overall, I had a great time working out with Krissy and all the ladies. They were all phenomenal and extremely fun!

Zumba appears not to be as effective as it’s touted to be!
