Wind and Rain; Timing Update

December 20th, 2012 at 6:52 pm by under Tony's Pinpoint Weather Blog

No major changes with what we are expecting for the rain/wind maker overnight into Friday.  We are becoming more confident on the timing with the worst of the wind and rain from 10AM to 1PM on Friday.  Gusts are 30-45 mph are possible inland…and gusts 50-60 mph are possible at the coast.  Keep in mind, we are still using the word POSSIBLE because many locations may not see wind speeps like this.

One of the concerns is that some downpours may bring some strong winds from high up in the atmosphere down to the surface.  It is hard to predict exactly where something like this might happen…so we need entire south coast to be on alert for the possibility.

Below is a computer forecast for 11AM on Friday….the bright red and orange represent heavy downpours. -Pete Mangione
