Whitehouse: US must help Syria as France helped US in 1700s
By Ted Nesi
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – U.S. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse said Tuesday the United States needs to step up its support for opposition rebels in war-torn Syria, arguing they need America’s help just as the U.S. needed France to win independence from Britain – though he ruled out putting troops on the ground.

I believe Mr Whitehouse needs to understand France is not a new young country and the US cannot be the policeman of the world. I do not think he understands we are in money problems in the US at this time supporting other wars. Perhaps he should be asking the UN to handle this problem.
The US is fighting wars throughout the world, supporting the UN, giving foreign aid to many countries, giving weapons to many and is spending way beyond its limit and asking its taxpayers for support.
Mr. Whitehouse must realize that when France helped the US it lead to a collapse of their economy and caused the French revolution.
The Senator should concentrate on repairing the US and RI economy.
