The EDC needs to be closed. So many useless boards and committees in Rhode Island that do nothing all day.
The EDC serves a vital purpose in Rhode Island. They create political cover for the real people that should be working on RI problems, our bought and paid for general ASSembly and our idiot governor. If you commission enough expensive reports and gather rooms full of talking heads, you never have to excercise leadership or take any action that might disturb the status quo. As long as the GA, the gov and the unions get to feed at the public trough, they don’t give a hoot what happens to honest taxpays, just raise taxes on the suckers.
in another year the election for governor wil be in full swing.
at that point , an executive director and all the directors know thye are lame ducks….
I’m almost tempted to try to find my way onto the EDC board. With 8 openings, no compensation(?), and a thankless role, I wouldn’t expect much competition.
So many useless boards, commissions and committees in this state.
