Former top Taveras supporter backing Pell for governor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – He’s not officially in the race for governor yet, but Clay Pell has already picked off one of his likely opponent’s top supporters.

Victor Capellan, who served as deputy campaign manager for Providence Mayor Angel Taveras during his 2010 campaign, will endorse Pell in the race for governor, according to Bill Fischer, a spokesman for Pell.

    Like to hear his reasoning on Pell. Uh, well he was in the Nat’l Guard and ummmm…..his wife’s a gold medalist and ummmm…..uhhhhhh….next question!

    Taveras wouldn’t save his brother from getting fired so he stabs him in the back and works for a rival. There’s no honor among thieves.
