EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The grandson of the former U.S. Senator whose landmark legislation opened the door for millions of low-income Americans to attend college is proposing Rhode Island overhaul the way its students pay for higher education.

    No, no, no. CCRI is already incredibly afforable. If you can find a new pile of state money to spend on it, you should be improving the school’s resources, or providing extra capacity, not reducing the perceived value of the education (which is what giving things away for free does).

    Also, Pell grants made college less affordable, but no one cares.
