I’m a big fan of Twitter, but polls show only 16% of Americans journey to the land of tweets, whereas fully 66% use good old Facebook. As somebody who remembers when Facebook was a fad ricocheting through my college dorm in 2004, that’s still hard to believe – but 1 billion users can’t be wrong, huh?
All that is just to say I’ve put together my own page over at facebook.com/TedNesi1. For those who follow me on Twitter, it will probably be pretty similar, at least until I figure out specific uses for the Facebook page. For those who don’t care about Twitter or Facebook, no worries – the blog is still my main squeeze (though you’re missing lots of good links to other folks’ fine work if you’re skipping Twitter).
You may say: “Nesi, how many darn social media websites do you need to be on anyway?” Believe you me, I wish it all were simpler! But in this modern era I think we news folks need to go where our readers and viewers are, and if that means Facebook, so be it.
So, pathetic as it sounds, please like me!

A programming note from RIPR’s Ian Donnis:
I’m mostly away from blogging today and tomorrow due to some in-house training. But I took a break to record RIPR’s weekly Political Roundtable with our guest, Democratic Congressman David Cicilline, Maureen Moakley, and guest panelist Ted Nesi. You can listen to it Friday morning at 5:40 and 7:40.
Ted and I also recorded a separate Q+A with Cicilline that will air tomorrow morning at 6:40 and 8:40. Like Roundtable, the audio will be posted later on our Web site.
And if you haven’t gotten a full fix of Cicilline’s apology tour, Tim White’s entire half-hour Newsmakers interview where Cicilline made his first one (taped Tuesday) is now up on WPRI.com.

… to The Washington Post’s must-read political blog The Fix for naming yours truly – along with my fellow “Newsmakers” regular WRNI’s Ian Donnis, a mentor of mine to boot – as Rhode Island’s top political tweeters. Follow me on @tednesi and decide for yourself.
I’ve been reading The Fix since Chris Cillizza started it up back when I was a wee collegiate, and it’s one of the sites on which I’ve modeled Nesi’s Notes, so this means a lot to me. I’d say more, but it appears my best work is limited to 140 characters.
(I still wonder, though, what Edward R. Murrow would think of tweeting.)
